Phillip said, “Show us the Father. Jesus basically said,
“You’re looking at Him”.
The Bible says that the fullness of Deity dwells in Jesus.
Yet he is self aware. That’s because he is The Word.
The Word was “with God” and the The Word “was God”.
The Son said, “I love the Father”.
When the Son says “I love the Father” he is saying I love the person who lives inside of me.
When the Father says, “I love the Son” he is saying I love the person I live inside.
When we say it, we are saying we love Jesus, both.
That’s the part that people can’t figure out.
The Word became flesh and dwelt among us. The person standing in front of Philip was the Word.
The Word is God and God verifies it in the Bible for those who doubt.
Hebrews 1:8 But to the Son He says: “Your throne, O God, is forever and ever;
Ephesians 4:5,6 one Lord, one faith, one baptism,6 one God and Father of all who is over all and through all and in all. 7 But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ’s gift.
who is over all, through all and in all. Moreso with the Son.
Colossians 2:9 9 For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form,
John 14:10 10 “Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father is in Me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on My own initiative, but the Father abiding in Me does His works.
And he was self aware, a separate entity but God nonetheless. We do not know about the limitless possibilities of being Spirit or being God. But the scripture is clear and authoritative that the Son is also God. I believe he was created, not by any kind of materialization but from God’s own being, making him intrinsically divine. And he considers the Father greater than he is, greater than all.
The Father is God, The Son is also God. They are then both Spirit. Therefore nothing is impossible regarding them.
The Father wants us to worship Himself, but He wants the angels to worship the Son.
Hebrews 1:6 And when He again brings the firstborn into the world, He says, “AND LET ALL THE ANGELS OF GOD WORSHIP HIM.”
Note: when he “again” brings the firstborn into the world.
that means the Father is going to bring the firstborn into the world again. and that Jesus will return to this world.
The angels are probably used to more complex spiritual things and understand the relationship between the Father and the Son more fully. they know about him dwelling in the Son.
John 4:23 “But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers.
As for us, I believe it is to make our prayers simple. Jesus said to pray “Our Father in the heavens”. he also said, “ask anything in my name and I will do it”.
pray “Our Father the heavens” in the name of Jesus.
Once you get used to it you will just understand that they are both God but you won’t much think about it.
I just say “Lord Jesus… and whatever is on my mind.” at the end I have chosen to say. thank you Lord, amen.
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
John 14:8-11 8 Philip said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us.” 9 Jesus said to him, “Have I been so long with you, and yet you have not come to know Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? 10 “Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father is in Me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on My own initiative, but the Father abiding in Me does His works. 11 “Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me; otherwise believe because of the works themselves.
